Dear’s Pig Finger…

Was waiting for dear anxiously to come out of the arrival hall… nowhere in sight… dear called me on Sat night and told me he hurt himself… old man of 30s already, still play things like one locked himself in the room and the other try to climb through the window to get to that guy on the other side and to try to unlock the door…and dear is the latter for your info… everyone there add together is almost 300 yrs old already.. still being playful… I was scared to death… but he reassured me that it’s light injury…

When I saw him… his was not light injury, though not those harsh one too.. he got bandages on his left hand 3rd finger, left hand ring finger… left elbow and left arm… u call that light injury… oh my god…

Discovered that he’s an even bigger, bigger, bigger cannon when at home later that evening…. I asked dear how’s his injury… he showed me his back… oh my god, how can that be a light injury… I CRIED… dear’s left side of his back was totally hurt… got abrasion on his whole left back… that’s never, never a light injury for god sake…dear dun even dare to let mummy see….Dear mus compensate me for the tears that I dropped….

Went to his GP later that night for him to review the wounds.. did those nerve test etc etc… seemed like everything fine but his GP referred him to go for a tetanus jab at the A&E dept cos dun know what it is that cut him… and he’s going to Taiwan this Fri… just in case…

At Tan Tock Seng Hospital, dear did a check up… doc commented that his back is quite bad looking… instructed for a chest x-ray to be done to make sure no fracture… the doc removed dear’s bandage on his ring finger… oh my god, the cut was worse than what I imaged… the cut was so deep that the skin almost fell off.. still bleeding slightly… that is really a nasty, nasty cut… the doc commented that it’s a very bad cut and now becos it’s delayed in stitching the wound, they can’t do anything now, scared of infection after the stitching… can only wait now… the doc did a x-ray on his finger too… luckily… both his back and finger no fractures =P

Doc’s advise… Clean & dress the wound… Rec a tetanus jab …. Go back to A&E review clinic for follow-up check up on Tuesday… if everything fine, proceed to stitch up the wound… .. by the way, dear can’t wear his wedding ring now.. doc says his finger will swell (like pig finger) & it’s advisable to remove the ring. Now I got both the wedding bands on my ring finger =P

Luckily dear is alright… next time muz forbid him to go on any company or unit trip anymore… Dear, pls promise to take care of yourself, k =P…

Weekend With Dear Away at Bintan

Dear went to Bintan for his unit trip from Friday till Sunday…. It’s was a “boring” weekend without him around but I managed to do quite a bit of things by myself…

How I Spent My Weekend with Dear in Bintan…
(1) Hougang Mall Visit
Visited the new Hougang Mall with sis on Friday night… the mall was totally revamped… I almost could not believe what I saw.. it’s something like Bishan Junction 8 but it is definitely much smaller in scale… but though small, I think it has almost everything… bought new cloths there too cos it’s on 20% discount… hee hee hee

(2) Cross Stitch
Bought a cross stitch from Hougang Mall too… it’s very cheap… S$2 per packet and it come with the cross stitch clothe, needle and color threads…. The picture is that of a young, precious moment look alike couple… the girl is sitting on the luggage with the guy beside him… Spent Fri Night doing up a small, small fraction of cross stitch… will post it on the blog after I’m done… ke ke ke , but not sure when that day will come.. especially with all the wedding preparation in the way.. well, think I’ll try to do small bit by small bit when free…

(3) Wedding Montage
Spent quite some time on Saturday doing up the montage pics… phew, it’s hard work I tell u man… all those photos selection (must eliminate those ugly ones.. hee hee) , photos scanning… designing… and adjusting the size, cropping everything… just one word to describe… “XIONG”… but once a life time doing the wedding montage… will definitely enjoy the tedious process… hope to be like lin ling… keep doing this, even for our future kids… image doing up a DVD with my baby photos… dear baby photos… and our baby’s baby photos…it’ll be so adorable…

(4) Lunch with Buddies of 6
Went out for lunch with my grp of best buddies. Initially there are 6 of us but now left 4… Xia Xia is in US with her hubby who is posted there for 2 yrs to work… Cindy, who has long “lost contact” with her already.. always ask her out but she not free.. too busy with her church thingy…so now only left the 4 of us.. but Xia Xia coming back soon.. for my wedding to be the Jie Mei… xia, miss u =P

We had lunch at Soup Restaurant at Hougang Mall (suggested that place cos wanna to try the new restaurants there, but in the end, my frenz chose this over the new ones…) I arrived late cos went to pick up the car 1st… my frenzs thought dear joining cos I forgot to tell them and there ordered quite a number of dishes (well, cos u know my dear big eater mah)… luckily they didn’t submit the order yet…or else how can we finish the food…Lunch was gd… we ended with ice cream from Natural Gelare… yummy yummy…

(5) Long Drive to Tanah Merah Ferry Terminal
Went to pick up dear on Sunday afternoon…. 1st time I drove so far out in Singapore… but I determined to do it this time… anyway, the ferry terminal is so near my wkplace and I know the rd to my wkplace so well… set off at abt 330… reached the terminal at abt 4pm… it’s a long journey, especially the long stretch of Changi Coastal Road… no car and yet speed limit is 70km/hr… I went at 80… hee hee hee…it is such an accomplishment for me… 3 cheers to myself.. HIP HIP HURRAY…

Fruitful Sunday Afternoon…

Had a very fruitful Sunday afternoon….

Dear packed his bag for his Bintan trip (this wkend) as well as Taiwan trip (next wkend)… Used the travel vacuum bag that we bought from Watson on dear’s shirts that he intends to bring to Taipei… not bad.. the bag is big enough to hold 4 T-shirt of dear’s… the 2nd one will be for his Bermudas… intend to buy 4 more (cos I’ve got quite some things to bring and am anticipating that we buy quite a few things from Taipei…) ha ha ha.. so looking forward to the shopping trio next week…also decided on the luggage to bring… wow.. the holiday mood is coming…

After Saturday night’s of fruitful teaching by LL on the wedding montage thingy, I went to search in dear’s hse for his “baby” & “kiddy” photos… dear dun even know where his things are and what photos he had.. I decided to take the matter into my own hands.. search for the photos on my own… oh my god… guess what I discovered… atrocious and funny pics of dear when he was younger… 3 cheers to the BIG SPECTACLES… and SIDE PARTING….and the OLD MASTER (LAO FU ZI) look … hip hip hurray x 3… Here are some of the pics for your preview… wan to see more… you will enjoy it on the wedding montage on 25/11/2006 =P

Sat Night Out…Part 1… Part 2… Part 3…

Part 1 : Invitation Card Printing
Met up with the invitation card vendor on Sat evening… Chose the invitation card that we liked… it’s something simple… yet elegant…

The front of the card has slight floral prints…and at the corner of the card, there is a note… “Our Wedding”… the card is shiny ivory by itself… looking at the card made us so at ease… just like dear & me… not too complicated…

Inside is the usual wording… of course, also have my precious moments pic at the corner of the card… the pic is so lovely not to have… I’m sure dear will agree with me…

I took a liking to a certain type of paper… it’s a little thicker than usual and has this shiny surface… but atlas.. Those insert cost 50cents per invitation card… which means that 50 cards alone will need S$25… I back out the moment I heard of the price… it’s so ex… as usual…went back to being simple… we chose the normal insert… our card by itself has shiny surface… so let the inside be less complicated…

Part 2 : Shopping @ Watson
Went to Watson at Funan IT mall (we just came from opposite the road where the vendor for printing invitation card is)… that Watson is sure big…

Brought lots of things from Watson…
(1) Storage Box : In the mid of buying lots & lots of storage boxes… cos in the mid of revamping dear’s room… his room is small… so there must be some changes to storage system there, so as to accommodate me & my things (which is a lot a lot) after the wedding… so far we put away his ties and dirty socks… & a box of his VCDs… and folks, that’s not the end of house keeping… there’s more to come… will update you all after the spring cleaning… by the way, not that I want to mention… by dear’s cupboard is very “cannot make it:… I made him re-looked at his things and guessed how many pairs of socks he threw away after I nagged at him… almost 5 pairs of dirty and faint colored socks…oh my god…



(2) Travel vacuum bag : Too lazy to go to IMM to buy the S$2 vacuum bag that Lin Ling talked abt… so decided to get it from Watson @ S$3… tried using it on Sunday… not bad… the vacuum bag is quite big.. manage to put dear’s 4 t-shirts into 1 bag for his Taiwan Trip… plan to get more later for me.. think I’ll need more than dear… =P

(3) Eye mask : Brought a pair of eye mask… not the normal one that you muz be thinking of where we use and throw… the one that I brought is with some form of gel inside… need to store it cold 1st before placing them over the eyes… said to be useful for tired, strained and puffy eyes… tried them that night… it’s cool… the eyes feel so comfy… took pics of dear with the eye mask on using my mobile…it’s quite funny… too bad that I can’t upload it to the net… anyway, now I decided wef yesterday, that I’ll carry my digital cam everywhere I go…plan to take cute / funny pics as me & dear prepare for our wedding and start to build our own home tog (hse building is on the way, pls wait patiently =P) and I’ll surely post it on the blog for you guys to view…. =P

Part 3 : Visiting our Couple Frenz & Baby Jovin
Poor Jovin got chicken pox last week. So WQ & LL had to do hse activities to avoid bringing Jovin out, just in case the virus is still strong…

Haven seen Jovin quite some time… she had grown again… now, smarter still.. know what is clock (or is it because she rem Precious Moments inside the clock??? Hee hee hee, maybe PM liking is inside her genes too =P) and know how to point to WQ/LL’s wedding photos when we ask her where is daddy & mummy… isn’t she adorable?? She is also 1 hyper active baby… she would dance to the tunes of songs that she hear… simply put it across, she’s adorable and definitely the apple of the group..

Had a fruitful night at WQ/LL hse too… the “Heart Thump Thump & Point Each Other” brothers went to get supper (coffee addicts working again).. took a way too long time - 45 mins to get the things… wondering if they really waiting for the food.. or what???

Anyway, LL shared lots of things with me during that 45mins… she taught me to use “Memory on TV”… a program to do up my wedding montage and how to combine to put 4 pics into 1… lend me her clips arts too… I went through her wedding montage again & Jovin’s DVD… I’m now so looking forward now to do the DVD… hee hee.. wondering if dear will do 1 montage too as per our competition mentioned that night (ie we do individually & let LL be the judge)… think my dear totally freaked out at the taught of this “competition”… ha ha ha…

Quakes… After Shocks…

Last night, dear told me that his team is into another bet… YES… IT IS BET… AGAIN…

I held my breath… awaiting for his elaboration on what he betted this time… almost flipped off my chair when I hear this…

BET OF THE YEAR : WILL OIL PX BE ABOVE S$90 OR BELOW S$90 ON 29 DEC 2006?

And my dear betted S$200 into it… pls pls make sure he win =P

How this come abt… after a talk dear attended with his colleagues last night… something abt market trends etc etc etc… think the bankers out there are really stress… 1st world cup… now this… sigh…

Wan to know why my title is called “Quakes… After Shocks…”… hee hee hee

Quakes - impact me - is the news of the bet that my dear got himself involved in…

After shocks - impact dear - the counseling session that he had to give me after giving me the quake.. there is a long list of after shocks that I’ll give to him… some of these are…

(1) surprises… endless & endless of surprises (Dear, pls take note that quake is not a surprise)
(2) shopping… non-stop shopping trips esp to M’sia Mega Sales
(3) lover’s getaway at posh hotel (Fullerton hotel???) or beach resort (Penang??? Bali???)… muz throw in the spa package too =P (ozzz... look @ the pics below... so tempting, right !!!)

the list will get longer… can’t think of any now… but confirm it’ll be more than 3…

Dear… watch out… I’ll make sure u feel the after shock of the quake that u give me =P

Foot Massage… Shiok...

Went with dear for foot massage on Sunday afternoon…

This is the 2nd time I went for an actual foot massage, apart from the traditional thai massage which I have in Johor, which include the legs also… the 1st one is at Genting… that was when we are somewat better off… so decide to pamper ourselves with a foot massage…

1st Foot Massage…
I quite regretted on that one though… the foot massage was so painful that I almost could not take it… by right, foot massage is supposed to be painful at pt of massaging then the after effect would be shiok… but for my 1st encounter… it’s really totally opposite… the pain to my foot went on for more than a couple of days… there was just this “suan-ness” to my legs… let I over stretched it or what… dear was ok… only me felt that way… think I’m too weak… ever since that experience… I never tried foot massage again…

There was a new shop opening months ago near my hse… they specialized in foot massage, thai massage, Swedish massage, oil therapy and ear candling… it was relatively cheap becos of on-going promotions and becos the shop is in nieghbourhood area…

Dear went to try their foot and shoulder massage… he said it relatively gd… tried that for 2 time already… I scared… always back out…

2nd Massage…
But yesterday… I finally summon all my courage and decide to try out this foot massage near my place… it’s dear’s 3rd massage already…

A middle-aged auntie did mine… I told her I scared of pain… she promised to not to use too much strength… there is only 1 word to describe her service… GOOD…

There is still pain… especially when she pressed my individual toe… one by one… and also when she pressed the sole of my legs… it hurt so much that I had to pressed my fingernails into my palm… I almost had to fight back my tears… ha ha ha… this is too exaggerating already… no tears lah… the pain is there… but bearable… just had to endure a little pain for abt 10 to 15mins…

But the after effect is really gd… no pain in my legs… feel that my legs are lighter… and less tight (not as over-stretched as I feel before the massage)… tks auntie… for the massage =P

I muz comment too… the shoulder massage is also very gd… not as fantastic as the thai massage in johor… but it is definitely a gd alternative if we do not have need to go johor for a break… my neck and shoulder now feel so gd… so relived… no more aching…

So looking forward to another massage session… maybe this time rd to johor… our Taipei trip coming. So guess the next time for johor thai massage shld be sometime in Oct bah.. better than none =P… a gd getaway and stress reliever too before our big day in Nov… =P

Pirates Night with Dad & Mum

Friday night, our couple frenz cum movie kaki, Wenqiang & Linling informed us that baby Jovin is down with chicken pox… poor girl… got chicken pox at such a young age… she muz be feeling really uncomfortable… wq & ll have to be on day & night duty to take care of the baby… as a result, they cannot go to movie with us on Sat night to catch the pirates…

Tics are bought… so me & dear went searching ard for someone else to take up the tics… that was fri night and most of the pple had already bought the tics for such a hot show..

Reached home abt midnight after a day out with my colleagues… my parents were not yet asleep… asked them out of curiosity if they wanna joined us for movie on sat… they said “YES” =P… surprised… surprised…even our movie kakis were surprised that we are going out for a movie night with my parents… 1st time dear is going out for movie with my parents too…so looking forward towards it on Fri night…

Dad & Mum dun understand English… so the only way to follow through the movie is through the Chinese subtitles… though troublesome… but BRAVO to their enthusiasm to dismiss the trouble and to catch a Hit List show with us…

The pirate show is great, as per the comments… it was very funny, especially the scenes where Captain jack Sparrow & his crew & William were on the island where there lived a man-eating tribe… My parents or rather the whole cinema of pple were laughing our hearts out for these scenes… THUMBS UP to my idol… ah depp =P… he’s really good, and I muz say this role… Cap Jack Sparrow really suit him well…

The show is a bit draggy though… it is so obvious that there will be a 3rd serial gg on… with the ending of this show left hanging there…but I muz say the story line is worth something to catch in a movie… let’s hope the 3rd one is good =P

The show ended almost 1.45am… somewat passed my parents’ bedtime though they can be late night sleeper sometime too… but my parents are very “onzzz” one… we even went for supper after the show…as usual… my dear won’t be able to sleep if there’s nothing inside his tummy… to tell you something… so is my dad… that’s y there is even supper after the show…

Overall, great movie night with my dear & my parents…another time for another movie, maybe???

6th Anniversary

Today, 12th July marks the 6th anniversary of me & dear together… yesterday, when dear came over to my place for dinner… he had with him this flat paper bag… 1st thought… must be some work related documents that dear brought from office…

Took over the paper bag… as usual, with my “kapo” character, I opened the paper bag while dear was buying his 8-days from 7-11… saw a big yellow envelope… oh my god, the front of the envelope has 4 hearts at each corner… but no address on the card… 1st thought that crossed my mine… must be some love letter to dear from someone else… now the question… from WHO???

Can’t wait to open up the envelope and see whom this card is from… Hee hee… I’m so silly… took out the card and saw these big words…”TO MY WIFE”… I knew at once that dear bought me a card… a card for our anniversary… I was stunned… loss from words… grinning from head to toes… 1st time dear gave me a card… this is really one big surprise…I loved him so much so much…

Really impressed by dear effort… not only at choosing and buying me a card but also at decorating the card… do take a look at the cards in the link.. 6th Anniversary Card...

(3) Dear loved the wordings of this card and felt that the wordings are exactly the ones that he wanna tell me. However, this is a birthday card for the wife… so my creative dear stroked out the word “Birthday” and wrote “6th Anniversary”… lucky he din counter sign beside the cancellation… typical banker…
(4) Drew wings and angle rings on my head… really sweet..

Knew my dear was not that creative … found out from him that some of these ideas, except that of canceling “Birthday” and wrote “6th Anniversary” was taught to him by Jazz… Jazz, tks for your guidance to him…

But still, must applaud dear for his effort and element of surprise…

World Cup Final..

Finally, World Cup ended this morning at 450am… with Italy emerging as the World Cup Champion…. Wow, after a month of tough fight… this world cup is nevertheless exciting…

Watched it with dear .. though he’s at his hse and I’m in mine.. but we communicated via phone and sms.. quite a different way of watching world cup tog..

Me not really a super soccer fan.. so actually dozed off while watching the match.. but lucky me.. was super awake during 1st half of the match.. and that’s where the 2 goals are scored.. gd gd gd…

Not to waste anytime, manage to do an eye mask during the 15min break.. super time management, right.. hee hee hee.. Dozed off during the 2nd half and during the extra time.. instructed my bro to wake me up only if someone scored.. but thanks god, no one did, so I still manage to catch some sleep..

Woke up on my own just in time to see the penalty kicks… I got nothing to say… Italy is simply too good =P

Allowed my dear to recoup his losses too… yeah…. 3 cheers to Italy.. Hip Hip Hurray =P

4 years later before the next world cup comes…. Let’s us wait for the next Big Thing =P

Box-ercise class…..

It’s time to sweat & get fit…

I took up boxing classes a couple of weeks ago… my 3rd lesson just ended…. It’s such a new experience for me..to sweat and to do all those punching & kicking…

Dun ever bully me.. or become my enemy …or else … well, u know wat, right =P … hee hee hee (but then again, think I’m one of the worst student in the class)

Here’s some terminology that are used during classes
(1) Jab - straight punching into the enemy’s face
(2) Hook - hand over enemy’s neck with enemy back facing you..
(1) Cut - Bend your elbow and chop up your enemy side way
(2) Kick - Lift up your leg and kick the enemy.. right, left, front and back,,
(3) Sway - Bend down and sway to either the right or left to avoid attacking blow from the enemy
(4) Sumo - Full kick from one side to the other in a circular way

How… interesting class, right =P

Johor Trip... 2 Weekends Ago...

Sigh... missed the Johor trip 2 weeks ago.. we went with jazz.. had a 2D1N trip..

Stay at Eden Garden... i muz comment, the service is really gd.. though a bit slow..

And the shiok shop till u drop experience.. i muz say this deserve a 5 cheers... Hip Hip Hurray x 5.. hee hee hee.. (Dear : M'sia Mega Sale starting 22Jul.. we gg again, can??? Pls Pls Pls!!! Love u so much.. muck muck...)

THE FOOD ... yummy yummy.. there is nasi lemak, curry chicken, laska, kaya toast, bun toast, big fat crabs, gd soups, chicken chop, grilled fish, chicken pie.... so much so much... u muz try then u know wat we talking abt =P

Purchase of 4 Dian Zhuan….

Finally… bought my 4 Dian Zhuan… supposed to be 4 Dian Jin… but after much thinking by my in-laws.. they decided to make do with Zhuan instead of Jin.. Hip Hip Hurray =P

Bought this dangling necklace .. dangling earrings…. And a matching bracelet… cost quite a bit though…over our budget… but dear asked me to go ahead since I liked it… he said it’s once in a lifetime…. the design is something like the one below.. but the pendant for the necklace is longer and there are 2 dangling ones ..

Both parents commented that the set is nice.. so happy to had settle one major thingy on our wedding lists...

My 1st & 2nd Branding Bags…

This is an act of dear love for me again… he says that I had never wanted anything before and since all his frenzs had, he feels that I should have 1 too… so he bought me my 1st branded handbag (for functions & dinner) …then followed by a 2nd one (for shopping)…

It’s really an exciting moment for me.. that day when I stepped into DFS at Scotts.. my heart was going “thump.. thump… thump…”.. when I laid my hands on the bags.. I just couldn’t stop my heart beat from going faster and faster.. the bag is going to be mine soon……

Went back on another day to buy the 2nd bag.. the “thump thump..” feeling still there… what an amazing feeling..

Tks dear… for spoiling me again.. and again .. and again..

Visit to Quality Hotel..

On Sat Morning. We went down Quality Hotel with my mum and sister.. planned to use Quality Hotel as the hotel for me to get married out …. and for the tea ceremony…and for my relatives who are coming in from Malaysia to stay over..

The hotel is beautiful… visited the suites on the top floor (never stayed in one before.. this is going to be 1st time) the suite is something similar to a presidential suite jus that this is catered more for families ...




… followed by the Diamond Ballroom for the tea ceremony… nothing to comment.. it’s GOOD.. the hotel is even going to do up the deco for me.. this will be something personal..

Dear and I had an idea too.. dun think we’ll be going out during the 2 tea ceremonies to take photos.. we can take it in the hotel itself and the outdoor pool looks really nice (can have this as the background and we can see the skyline in the pics).. yeah =P

Wedding Talks in Office

Showed my colleagues my wedding photos … they are full of praises but the lucky thing is that they still recognize me from the photos…

Among these colleagues whom I’m closer with and lunch with everyday.. there are 3 guys and 3 gals… all the guys are married… and they shared their wedding experience with me… the gals though no personal experience to share with me, they told me abt the frenzs wedding too ..so sweet of them…

gave me tips to avoid drinking on my actual day… decided to keep these to me & my hubby and not share it with anyone else… or else we’ll get sabotaged… ke ke ke…

Guest list..
A headache task.. who to put on the guest list and who not to.. and who should sit with who…. Hard choice… especially the guest list of my new wk place.. booked my colleagues already.. going to force them to edit my guest list for me after I came up with 1st draft…

Send out email to inform all relatives and frenzs abt my upcoming wedding and enclose my bank a/c no for them to credit ang pao $$ into my account… state a dateline… after the dateline, do the following…
~ Ang pao $ < S$100 – Send guests MacDonald Happy Meal Vouchers & Tks You Card
~ Ang pao $ < S$200 – Send guests ChatterBox Dinner Voucher & Tks You Card
~ Ang pao $ > S$200 – Send guests invitation card to the wedding banquet..
any new wedding couples like to take the idea above.. we are not going to do it or else our parents will come hammering us… =P

Counting down to my wedding days…. 143 days away… abt 4.76 mths away…. as at today..

Upcoming Taiwan Trip

Yeah.. finally booked my leave and had made the arrangement for our Taiwan Trip with our best couple frenzs…

So looking forward to the shopping… & eating…. & hot springs in Taiwan……
Did some research…. make sure we shop and eat till we drop =P yeah…

Taiwan.. here I come…

Wedding Traditions ...

Daddy & mummy bought lots of things for us over the past few weekends… They are all for our upcoming weddings..

There are …
(1) One pair of lovely pink color lamps.. who says the lamps muz be red… pink is nicer… of course, muz tie red ribbons ard the lamps and paste the “XI” word on it… luckily my parents din get me the hello kitties lamp..
(2) Tea ceremony tea set… these are lovely.. the set comes with a pair of love ducks.. signify never-ending love.. and sweet … and all the good things abt marriage..
(3) Pails and bucket.. with the “XI” word all on it…and etc etc..

Have to get the following on our own for the wedding… night wear and bedroom slippers and bedsheet set…

Sigh.. getting married is not an easy task.. but it’s definitely a happy and enjoyable occasion.. =P
